After much searching and waiting we have had the privilege to welcome another schipperke into our family. She has come from Czechoslovakia and is call Kardolka, but our little boy named her Daisy so I guess that is what she is stuck with. She is a complete joy and her and Charlie (little boy) are never far apart. We still miss Ben but daisy brings smiles everyday. The family is complete once again.

Visitor Comments: Hi from Australia to all you proud Schipperke owners in Britain. We have just received our new puppy, our third Schipp, and he has very quickly found his place in our hearts. Schipps are a little unusual in Australia, and often bring questions from curious onlookers. I call them the best-kept secret of the dog world! Many thanks to Barb Mrowiec of Bateauchien kennels for the latest much-loved addition to our family.

We love our Schipperkes over here in the UK as much as you do. Please feel free to contact any of the breeders on the club's breeders' directory. I am sure someone will be able to help you in your quest for another Schipperke. We look forward to seeing you visit with the rest of us perhaps at a club show? Once you get settled here in the UK, don't hesitate to contact the club for further information on our club shows, where held, dates.

Visitor Comments: Hello there!
I am a proud mom of the most wonderful schipperke in the whole universe named Jake Waffles and will be moving to the UK in about a month. My husband got hired by a UK company so we started the process to bring our little angel too. Sadly he will have to stay with my sister in law for 5 month because of the UK rules that dogs needs a microchip, rabies vaccination right after the microchip has been implanted and a blood test, then he needs to wait 6 months or he will have to spend all that time in a quarantine facility. so we rather have him stay and I will be flying back to California to pick him up. We will love to get him a brother or a sister since he is so playful (crazy to be honest) and LOVES other doggies! please let us know how we can adopt a schip!
Thanks,
Claudia

In july 2005 we found Mr Bilge, accidently advertised in the DIY ads in our local paper,

We had just got a narrowboat and a friend had told us we needed a belgium barge dog, and so with absolutely no knowledge of the breed we acquired Mr Bilge and set off to explore the waterways of england, in no time at all Mr Bilge had promoted himself to High Admiral of all the waterways and the land and anywhere alse.

He loved us and guarded us all his days, We have never known a funnier smarter dog,  he made many good friends on our travels.

Sadly in july 2008 Mr Bilge died and left us absolutely devastated, bereft and dogless. we will never be able to forget him.

I september 2008 after much serching we found Rosie (Caroza Black Rose) a totally different character to Mr Bilge but just as loveable and just as funny, On the way home from picking her up from  Norwich we stopped off at a quiet beach for her to have a wee and a little walky when she ferociously attacked a gigantic frogman who could not stop laughing at  this tiny tiny puppy. true schippe style!

Nite nite Mr Bilge We will never forget you.

Schippes are brlliant little dogs we would recomend one to anybody.

Visitor Comments: Hi, I have a 2 year old male schipperke who is my best guy, don't let my husband know!  I never knew what a schipperke was until I saw my little guy.  I'm so glad he picked me that day cuddling up to me the moment I met him.  He has been the most loving funny and naughty dog I've ever owned but I woudn't trade him for the world! How do you get a schip to stay after 2 years I haven't figured that out yet.

Visitor Comments: My loving loyal Ben passed away last night after a pancreas attack on boxing day and he never fully recovered, he was the most loving, fun, entertaining dog anyone could ever want. At 7 years of age it was hard to see such a beautiful dog go. But we have many great memories. I miss him madly and look forward to another schipperke to make me smile again
