| Visitor Comments: Thankyou Amy for being brave enough to post pictures and tell your story. For years I've been told "your fat" control your eating it will go away. I am now 52 and finally someone listened to me. But now my work wont honor my FMLA and let me go for theraphy. Hang in there. I felt so much better after reading your story.

Visitor Comments: Here is my story of living with Lymephedema::::
I was told I have Lymphedema in May of 2006. After I changed my Doctor I had for 10 years. That Doctor told me my fat was looking for a new place to go, thats why my legs were getting fatter. The Doctor that told me I have Lymphedema said that it had progrested in to elephint tiest. He also told me I had it in both arms, both legs, and in my back. He sent me to a Doctor to operate on my legs; that Doctor in turn said I was to fat and needed just to walk off the fat and my legs would be better. The pain is like red ants crawling up and down my legs and arms. I now go to a doctor that found a surgen that took out two tumers that size of twin babies out of my left leg 2 years ago. No cancer was found. I have never had any form of cancer.... the Doctor that operated on my leg left my leg looking bad and the tumers are growing back...... I have tried everything I could to fix my Lymphedema, but it is to far gone. The things I have tried just lead into more health problems. We think my father had the same thing, he also had big legs and was big. He died in 2001 with congestive heart failure.... I now walk up to 10 feet with a cane and use a wheel chair to go places. I now have high blood pressure, Diabates, and sleep apna. Now the Lymphedema is all through my body...... I hope in away of telling my story it might help others that have always been a little over weight growing up. Just think if a doctor would have found that I had Lymphdema growing up I might not have all these health problems now. Thank you Amy for the information. |
