My father was born in Muirkirk, Scotland - February 6, 1921.  Both of his parents and his grandparents also lived there.  I am interested in information about my great-grandfather on my grandfather's side of the family.  My grandfather was George Campbell; his father was John Campbell (born in Riccarton in 1862; mother was Janet Frew also born in 1862).  I seem to be hitting a dead-end at Ancestry.com.  Can you give me some guidance?

Thank you.

Excellent site.

Brought up and stayed in Mauchline from 1950's to early 1970's.

I am particularly interested in any information on Mauchline senior football side who played during 1870's thru to 1890's at Connel Park.

They won the first Ayrshire Cup and reached the last 6 of the Scottish Cup in the same season 1877-78.

Visitor Comments: I just found out about this site and am very excited about it!  My family moved to Canada but we were all born in Scotland and I was too young to remember much about our history.  This site is a blessing.
