Visitor Comments: To Mischa. (Actually someone else kidding around)
I am sorry for your loss. Of English, that is... Obviously you need to get back in school.
As to why I didn't write "rarely read my hotmail":
1. Hotmail is a trademark that belongs to Microsoft, and the service is most likely running on their servers, so I merely borrow/use their service. I don't even own the e-mail adress.
2. In addition (or substraction? No, addition, I think...) to not read the content on the hotmail account I am using, I never write from it either. Hence why I didn't specify which. I could, of course, have written both, but it would look weird.
3. To some extent, we are both wrong. What you mean to say is that I should use the word or trademark "hotmail" as a noun. I use it as a verb.
The International Trademark Association doesn't want us to use trademarks as either nouns or verbs, but sometimes it fits in a sentence. For instance; "I Xeroxed (Verb) my butt the other day, and I really have to stop playing LEGO (Noun),because those things really can leave marks!"
Both Xerox and LEGO are trademarks of their respective companies. No, butt is not a trademark...

There you have it! Hope you learned something from it. I had to a fair amount of research to back this up.:P
Resources: http://itre.cis.upenn.edu/~myl/languagelog/archives/000943.html http://andromeda.rutgers.edu/~jlynch/Writing/index.html And more, but google it if you really have to know! And yes, it's prefectly legal to use 'and' and 'but' at the beginning of a sentence. I just learned it. :D |

Visitor Comments: Hi. I was just browsing the internet, and I found this amazing page! I am in the buisness of making Flash-movies, and I thought maybe I could borrow some of your songs. I haven't listened to all of them yet, but I like what I've hear so far! You will be hearing from me if I borrow some of your music. Sean |
