Vampire mythology, whether their is some truth to the claims that can be explained by science and deductive reasoning or it is just a product of a humans ability to pass fear through the generations. Has anyone pin pointed the original place or time period of its first arrival in population?? Just wondering how far back the myth starts. Anyone have any research on the matter?  |

| Visitor Comments: One more little piece of trivia for you. In the movie, "An American Werewolf in London", one of the guys calls back home to the good ol' USA. He gives the phone number to the operator. It was area code 516, 472-XXXX. At the time the movie was made, Long Island was still using area code 516. As far as the phone number exchange, it was for BAYPORT. I was so surprised!! No 555 exchange for them - they used a Bayport phone number! |

| Visitor Comments: You have your facts about Dracula screwed up. The Charcter was based of a Prince of Romania. His name was Vlad the Implaer. He spent much of his life at war trying to either regain his kingdom or keep it away from enemy hands. He was cruel and viscious. He drank the blood of his enimes on the battle field, faked his death many times. They still have not found his real grave and Romania still awaits his return despite how cruel he was. He left his newborn son in a grassyfield to die when his enemies where chasing him and drove his own wife mad. That is who Bram Stroker based Dracula off of not Walt whitman. Sorry to dissappoint. |

Visitor Comments: I swmost of the orriginal Amityville Movies, and the newest 1st remake. I believe since it exists, that its rel.
I even sent a challenge email to TAPS but never got a response. Either they wee ignoring me, or perhaps, they were too afraid to check out the Amityville house.
However, the question remains, since idid internet research. Has there been any othr unexplained situations i the Amityville house?
According to my research, there is a family living there now. They made the statement, that they were not allowing visitors in the house.
So, how is it, that they lived there for several years, and nothing happened? Its my opinion, and for the record, nothing meant as an offense or deragatory comment to that family; but fr one to not experience anythingas th last victims did: they would have to practice a satanic religion, or, like Rose Red: its a dead cel. Since I am speculatieg as an opiion based on the 6th amendment of th US Constitution, that is all that is. n opinion.
BUT, Perhaps then, it could be a dead cell? I uess this is a mystery, tat I will never know, as o why the family there has not died, or been murdered by one of their own, as it did in the past for almost every owner that aquired the house. But, if anyone wants to share additional history with me, send me a message.
Final thought. Has there been any secret passageway found? The orriginal movie, showed a glowing red room, when bricks wer knocked out. The new movie, showed it as a room passage, thatt was pimus blocks, covered by a wall of boards. Which was it? Or was it both?  |

Visitor Comments: I don't get this town. Fake as anything and nobody from here knows about anything that happens north of sunrise hwy. My wife made us move here 2 years ago and all I have wanted to do is kill myself. I grew up on the island and it was ok...but this town and its people are insane. There are Way too many gays and how many times do you have to shut down Main Street to have parades. Ok I get it. You guys have a fire department...So does everyone else. Moving to this place was the worst mistake of my life. I have never met a bigger population of fake people on this planet and I have a job that lets me travel a lot. I try to like it. I really do. But I just don't get it. Please someone explain it to me. I can’t find one person that went to school with my wife that she is friends with that has not left this place. At best maybe they leave for college but they all came back.
When I first started dating my now wife, there was a problem with my wife’s brothers and one of their friends. Their friends was said to have slept with the younger brothers girlfriend at the time. When I found this out I was all ready to go lay this mother F-er out with them ( they are good guys and I would do anything for them ) but for some reason nothing happened and they are all still friends even though word was it was proven that the friend did sleep with the brothers girlfriend. Growing up whether he did or didn't, he would have caught a beat down.
There is just not the kind of loyalty or brotherhood in this town that I had growing up, or found other place in the U.S for that matter. I'm over 30 now and have 2 kids and I have to say, it’s not that the people here are bad. It just seems they have no idea or concern for that matter what happens outside of this little town. And I don't want my kids growing up like that.
When my wife and I were looking for homes on LI, We looked at Sachem School District along with Sayville School District. My wife and her parents tried explaining to me in there words " wouldn't you rather have our son in a school that was small enough that he could just play football and not have to fight to get on a team because the school had to many students?" My answer was NO...Sachem School District (and I hate them because they always use to beat us in football when I was playing in ‘95) has enough students where there are actually try outs. If you are good enough there you are on the team. If you are not then you do not get on the team, the way it is supposed to be. Sayville because it is so small if you like football you play. That is no way to teach your children. If they are not good enough to play a sport they should practice like hell to make the team. Not just get on because they are a warm body to put on the field. If parents can’t accept that then they should pay for a private football team to put their kids in so they would get playing time. Or maybe I'm wrong...In that case I'm off to Rutherford NJ. to get my new TE position with the Giants.
Listen I love my in-laws and all the other married in family that I have, but this town...This place does something to you...And I haven't figured out what it is. I think my wife and I have finally have found a way out which is great. Even though I think she still wants to stay. But for the people who are going to read this and actually TRY to understand what I'm saying try to change this damn place so people like me can come back. And for the dummies who are going to read this and yell and scream “GO BACK TO BRENTWOOD THEN YOU LOSER “I feel sorry for you because Sayville, NY isn't all you think it is. Fix it.

| Visitor Comments: can't explain what i saw around 3 a.m. one night back in 1992 or 93. from my south window of my huntington station home, i was seeing what looked like the entire sky movin silently and slowly in a due south direction. i first thought the earth was changing its axis!!! but as i watched thi..blikling my eyes in incredulity, i began to wonder if it was actually an IMMEMSE silent aircraft moving toward the south. i was ot halucinating. only told this to a few people in these past dozen years or so, and only polite yawns are prompted by it. that same night i wanted to call faa n farmndale airport because tht wasthe diretion it was going. it was not just a few lights. it was thouands, as in stars in thesky. anyone else see this? |
