Visitor Comments: I read your article about Wicca, the Amityville Horror, and Lucifer, and I was just APPALLED at how much information you had wrong in the first PARAGRAPH of this article! It is stories like this that give Wiccans a bad name. We are a nature loving and peaceful religion, and no true Wiccan would ever cause anyone harm or pain. I hope that the insinuation you are making is due to ignorance, and not malice.
Let's see if I can set the record straight on as many mistakes as I can think of without hitting the character limit most of these guest books have.
First of all, Ray Buckland is not the father of modern Witchcraft. I have been learning the craft for many years, and have been in several covens, and not a single person from any of those covens would have said that Ray Buckland was the father of modern witchcraft, but rather Gerald Gardner. Secondly, the stronger sunlight theory does not make much sense for making Long Island a sacred place for Wiccans. Wicca tends to aim for a balance between the sun and moon, and if anything, it focuses more on the moon than the sun. Our holy days revolve around the moon and sun (much like Yin and Yang),and the turning of seasons. The Sun God is often called the Horned God, but is likeness is that of a Stag, and he has nothing to do with Lucifer. We do not believe in a Sun God called Lucifer. To say so comes out as a purposeful attempt at relating the peaceful religion with Satanism.
This article is insulting, and I truly hope that you double check your references and avoid making unfounded conjectures about the religions of others. |

The script for the Doors movie had blessed little to do with the reality of Jim Morrison OR Patricia Kennealy's life or interactions. That Ms. Kennealy-Morrison is a witch is a matter of public record. She has been open, honest and aboveboard about it, and her faith has NOTHING to do with the horrors you're promoting. You're a sensationalist hack without the integrity God gave the National Enquirer! |

Ms. Kennealy-Morrison has nothing to do with whatever nonsense they decided to put in 'The Doors' movie, but you're blending scraps of fact, Halloween-level witch references and movie quotes like they're all the same thing. Vampire mythology, whether their is some truth to the claims that can be explained by science and deductive reasoning or it is just a product of a humans ability to pass fear through the generations. Has anyone pin pointed the original place or time period of its first arrival in population?? Just wondering how far back the myth starts. Anyone have any research on the matter?  |

| Visitor Comments: One more little piece of trivia for you. In the movie, "An American Werewolf in London", one of the guys calls back home to the good ol' USA. He gives the phone number to the operator. It was area code 516, 472-XXXX. At the time the movie was made, Long Island was still using area code 516. As far as the phone number exchange, it was for BAYPORT. I was so surprised!! No 555 exchange for them - they used a Bayport phone number! |
