Visitor Comments: well HELLO-it's me again. My son is now 15 and 6ft 2 and plays bass guitar like a superstar. recent years have not been too good business wise here in Germany, possibly down to the number of Germans living over here. I re-read my last epic email and that only provoked one good reply(Not even one from Sue Tye and there was a really poignant remark about her in the Email!) so we had a couple of reunions, I couldn't make the one in 2004 or was it 2005? I am off to hospital in the morning for a QUINTUPLE heart bypass operation which is almost as big as the A1 Newark by-pass. Thereafter I'll be back to the 100 meters in 12 seconds again and throwing the javelin half a mile. Recently got really back into Led zeppelin and my favourite track has to be NO QUARTER-listen to it. Music is not what it was(hang on, didn't our parents say that too?) All of us who enjoyed each others company at the reunions will have our own lives to contend with and only very rarely think about the terrific times in the middle 60's at NKGS. I can say it was one of the best times in my life, I mean I lost my virginity, lost my "not having a criminal record", lost my hatred of how bitter tasted, lost my mind on a few occasions, my heart on too many to mention. It is said that you can't go back and nostalgia is non productive but I don't think so. Mim B. is still searching the www for her family line and must be back to Blackadder I by now!! Leeds United are in the 3rd division-positively sickening, but they are on the way up. I never did find JOHN YATES who I sat next to in almost every subject at NKGS. I was listening to BIG L on www.bigl.co.uk the other day and they played a single by SKIP BIFFERTY who I saw live in the Airmans Club RAF Waddington in 1967. Waves of nostalgia magically appeared above my head. Today we have our credit crunch but we also have the X Factor. we have Ed Balls but we also have GEARGE GALLOWAY. We have Leona Lewis but Skunk Anansie have reformed. We have huge lotto wins but millions of poor people and we have in Britain, a government that has been secreted amongst us as a prize in some intergalactic compertition whose winners were told they could come to another planet and run a country! Still I like watching Casualty and Holby City!!

It would be great to hear from anyone who remembers me, I mean I was the Javelin chapion of my year in one of Steves Yin Tan Tethera magazines.

Help me through my boredom and write!!

Best regards to all(specially Mim and Sue and Kath!)

John Kellas

Visitor Comments: I attended NKGS for only one year 1965/66, and my name then was Thayer. Seeing the photos of the old buildings on your site brought back lots of memories!

Hello everyone.  I had the best years of my young life at NKGS.  Pirate Radio stations, Scooters, Marion Tickle, Kelvin Graham, Smoking by the papershop after school, Pam Newton from RPS,  my paper round right up the Newark Road towards god knows where, Viking Coffee Bar(it's still there!) Going to Skeggy in force on the scooters, Getting beaten up in Skeggy by the Greasers! Watching the Beatles Films at the Odeon, Going dancing upstairs in the Swiss Cottage, The Ogillvy Bros,  Mr Senior the teacher who had one jacket,  Kath Chambers, Forging School Dance tickets as an extra income(Got caught though didn't we Dunc!), the infamous but really harmless "Grass stuffing episode), the pathetic plastic swimming pool that a javelin could stick into quite well!,  drinking milk at breaks, drinking beer in that pub in South Hykeham, Johnny Moore-a great friend, Lincoln City Football Team-brilliant and look what they've done to Sincil Bank!!!  Jim Smith, Sue Bayes, Margaret Hatton, Linda with those ever so sexy knock knees, The RAF Club at Waddington-who remembers the band "Skip Bifferty"?, Dave Dearnley who should really have been a mega star, Mike Frith who just went away, Barry D'Zousa,  Sue Tye could have done anything with me she wanted to ;-)) Hazel Wilson from the supermarket at the Forum Shopping Centre-my very first experience!!  All in all a really great time.  I was there from may 65 until December 67 when I came to Germany.  Still here.  Please mail me in your droves?

Steve

As one of your "older" participants - "served" at NKGS from 1958 (when still based at RPS) through 1965 - nice to see site so successful. Glad to be a part of it - Nostalgia Rules!

Regards

Barry
