| Visitor Comments: So glad I found your page, with real family dogs. I just got my Mai-te "Mattie" from a rescue in Tennessee. She was one of 41 abused and neglected in a puppy mill, left in filthy cages with no air conditioning and starving. Mattie is maybe 2 or 3 years old and had 3 pups in her when she was spayed. No telling how many litters she bore - the woman did not keep records. She picked me by staying aloof from the others who were frenetically jumping on me. She quietly came around and sat at my side, then laid her head in my lap. She is so calm, steady, smart, and stays right at my feet. She abhors a leash, so she'll have to learn that; but she is so fastidious she started doing her business outdoors from the start. Just being outdoors is a treat for her. I thought I could never love another dog after my MaltiPoo died last year. But Mattie is her own special self, I we are in love! Barbara C |

| Visitor Comments: What a wonderful story. Thank you for sharing it. I went to visit a rescue set up today at an outdoor farmers market in Brentwood, CA. They had 2, 5 month old Shih tzus that were sibblings. A boy (Cash) and his sister (Carry) and I almost filled out the application. One day soon, I will have a set of Shih tzu's to brighten my day and life. Enjoy your little gifts for God.
