Visitor Comments: I bought all the items required to build a 3 element triband sloper Delta Loop this week.
All my good ideas have now gone out the door, because you have convinced me to build an Hex Beam.
An excellent article.
I don't see how anyone could go wrong.

Visitor Comments: at age 20 (1959) I got my first call kg6aka while stationed at anderson afb Guam mi I lived in agania with my wife and first child. bamboo grew naturally everywhere and my first antenna was a cubical quad all bamboo including the tower worked well but did not compare to 3 element rhombic we used at the mars station 25 years later built a pvc quad after moving to tx 3 element 3 band pvc beam with wire passing thru elements and hanging 1/4 wave down supporting bottom of square also worked well but this one is worth trying at age 71 tnx paul

Visitor Comments: Dave,
Thanks for taking your time and effort to help homebrew hex beam builders.

The great feature of the hex is that the material/parts to build the antenna is readily available for the homebrewer.
The cost of the material to build a hex is less than what a new rotor cost to turn a typical triband beam.

Antenna building is one of the final frontiers for amateur radio homebrewing
