| Visitor Comments: This is just to say hi, and how much I like your site. As a great lover of tenors, I've always admired Allan Jones' voice, and his easy-going personality, as in the Marx Brothers films. My late mother was a great fan, and would sing 'The Donkey Serenade' all day. I haven't seen 'Showboat', she used to rave about it. The reason I logged on tonight, is that a few days ago I bought an old RCA vinyl record of his songs. It's stunning! Good luck for the future from Australia. |

Visitor Comments: Hi,
Glad I found this site. Allan Jones was the finest tenor of the 20th Century. I am 83 years of age, so I recall his films of the 30s.

| Visitor Comments: Allan was a friend from 1968 until he passed on to the Great Concert Hall of Heaven. I met him when he was appearing in at the 500 Club in Atlantic City. He was staying at the Mariner Motel, on the Bay in Margate. He had one of his three boats docked next to my friend's boat and asked me to show him around on the area waterways, which I gladly did, even though I had no idea who he was. To show his appreciation, he took me and a female friend to dinner in Ocean City. We went on his boat. After dinner, under a full moon in the Great Egg Harbor Inlet, Allan serenaded us with The Impossible Dream. It was then that I realized I had met a man of incredible talent. The next day I called my Mother to ask if she ever heard of Allan Jones.
Fast forward to 1980...
I'll never forget when my Mom, Dad and Aunts finally got to meet Allan. It was in 1980, backstage at Bally's in Atlantic City, where Allan was appearing in "A Tribute to Vaudeville", with Joey Bishop, Tessie O'Shea, Pierre DuPont and Sparky, Jackie Vernon and The Harmonica Rascals. After the show, we went backstage. I remember my Mom and her two sisters giggling like school girls, waiting for Allan to emerge. It was truly one of the happiest moments in my life to see the excitement experienced by my Parents and Aunts at the moment they met their screen idol, Allan Jones. Allan treated them like they were the stars! Later, we all had dinner together. My Mom and my Aunts were on Cloud 9 for a long time after that day.
Many more memories, but not much time to recapture them here. For those of you who didn't have the good fortune to meet and know him, he was a nice man and a good friend. Your affection for him is well placed.
It was a sad day when Maria answered the phone and told me that Allan had died.
One last thought: Allan would have LOVED the Internet and to be able to use it to communicate with the people he loved so much-His Family, friends and fans. |

| Visitor Comments: How my love and respect for Allan Jones has grown since finding this wonderful site! Such a wealth of information, photos, etc. My collection has grown to awesome proportions and am searching scrapbook and album archival possibilities. If anyone has suggestions, please e-mail me. I did find a site with extra large archival scrapbook that is 21"x15" so may accommodate posters and sheet music. Many of my best photos will be made into a collage, especially the many I have of Jeanette/Allan from The Firefly---my favorite movie. Also sheet music for Alone---my favorite song.

| Visitor Comments: I congratulate you on a top-notch site! I'm grateful you took the time to be so thorough. I was just looking for a photo of Jack Jones' father, but your site made large historical leaps for me, and I was able to make connections I hadn't before. I will be watching Turner Classic Movies ever so more carefully now, to spot Allan Jones! Now I realize I've seen him a thousand times, as a young man to old, never really knowing who I was looking at. The old movies and sites like yours keep these people alive, as they should always be, as they deserve to be. |

| Visitor Comments: As a young, inexperienced, piano player, I was lucky enough to accompany Allan on two UK tours circa.'49/'50. I was delighted to hear from him and join him for lunch during the 70s when he guested on the Jack Jones TV in Glasgow. A great performer and a nice guy. Met up with Jack while cruising on the QE2 in 2993. He gave a fine cabaret act - as expected.
Regards, Will Fyffe Jr.
