| Visitor Comments: i was told by a bloke on one job that the car used by caine at the pantiles location was the persons own car (who owned the house) during rehearsals he slammed the car door when getting out. the owner asked him not too do it again. i was told that he was an ex-bouncer/boxer. if you see the scene again he does'nt slam the door. love the site. |

| Visitor Comments: Great site. First saw Get Carter many years ago and was fascinated by the locations. I really love the gritty industrial, working-man scenes that show a side of a now long-gone Britain. I now work in Newcastle having moved up from South and this site is great for showing where bits were filmed. |

| Visitor Comments: Hello,
I watched the movie on Finnish TV last night and it gets better every time I see it. The information on your website is excellent, especially the now/then photos. I visited the North East on a school visit in 1979, and actually stood at the spot where the last scenes were filmed. I couldn't believe how they could just dump coal waste into the sea. I remember some people were collecting larger fragments of coal on the beaches. The weather was much the same as in the film, pretty depressing. The movie captured the reality of the time, the cinematography in particular was excellent. Thanks for giving me a couple of hours of entertainment. |

| Visitor Comments: Really fantastic site. The pictures are great. Had been to 1 or 2 Get Carter locations and Parkside Crescent for Payroll. My Aunty & Uncle remember watching the scene when the house burnt down being filmed. Organised a pub crawl before Arsenal away a few years back and went to a few Minder locations taking similar pictures. Can understand the thrill on finding a location. The bendy lamp post has been straightened!* Was going to organise a Get Carter crawl for my mates in London but on research (before finding this site) it seemed pointless as everything has changed so much. Interestingly my mates live very near to the level crossing in Kingston, we'll find it when I'm next down. Any thoughts on Auf Wiedersehen Pet or Purely Belter locations or has it been done elsewhere? (*The alley by the bendy Minder Lamp post takes you to George Orwells local which also featured in the opening shots of Peeping Tom) |
| Admin Reply: 2001.... got was it really that long ago i made this site, but the thrill of finding locations, yes, i loved it. sad to some people, but not to me especially at the time...ironically i was given the list in my hand at the end of it all. All printed out in the productions notes, but by that time i had found them all, the hard way, took a couple of years haha. Auf pets already been done and purely beltar has some good locations, perhaps a website on it in twenty years. I didnt care much for the film it has to be said, i thought the child actors in it were terrible....moping aboot and not even geordies haha. Bendy lamp post, nice one...made me think of the (laurel Hardy) music box stairs in los ageles which at the bottom still has its bendy lamp that was their during filming way back in 1932. I love laurel and hardy....if i lived in us i would have probably made a location site on their films by now.....some people think i'm nuts...hee hee...thanks for your comments anyways. MB |

| Visitor Comments: A great site for fans of this film, thank you. Get Carter is one of my half dozen favourites. I originally saw it when it was first shown on TV in the 70s, I was too young to see it at the cinema. |I love the industrial landscapes and the bleak feel of the film still sends a tingle down my spine. My mother knew Ian Hendry's family, unfortunately his lifestyle caught up with him. |
