Interestingly enough I am yet another Raine father coming from the Shildon/Bishop Auckland area. We have a family tree researched back some 400 years or so. Now 2 generations are living in the south wales area. Be interesting to get in contact with others who are searching their ancestry. You never know there may be a link. Seems fairly likely as there seem to be others from the same area of the north of england. Leave a message if interested.

| Visitor Comments: Site looking really good. keep up the good work. As you can see my surname is Raine.My farther,Harold, was from the Seaton Carew area of Hartlepool. I know we still has relatives in that area but sadly no contact. I think he still has a brother in the area. He has a brother,Cliff or clifford who lives in Bedworth, Warwicks. Also there was a Beryl, don't know her married name, who lived in Liverpool, sadly deceased now. My brother, Clive lives in Blackpool & has a family. I live in Rugby near my farther & sister. If I can help anymore please contact me & i'll try & help you further & ask my farther some more questions. |

| Visitor Comments: Just Googled our family name and found this site, My father John and his brother Peter, both grew up in Billingham and went on to work at ICI. There parents Jack and Elsie Raine were originally from County Durham between Shildon and Bishop Auckland I think, seems to be a lot of family talk of this area.

Elizabeth Ann Raine (b 1864 Middridge, Co Durham) was my paternal Great Grandmother. Her parents were Thomas Raine (b c1829 Middleton Tyas, N Yorks) and Ann White ( b c1832 Mainsforth, Co Durham)
I hardly know anything about my Dad's side of the family and I'm really quite excited that this website may open a few doors for me!!
