Please email me. May be able to help each other. I'm doing research on the 317th,80th  company G. My Aunt is trying to establish/prove my uncle's POW status. You might have some pics/docs...and she or I may have some items you collect.

You could also call her. Rosie@ (207) 527-2868

Thanks and God Bless

Visitor Comments: Hey! this is really random, but I wondering if you could lend my wife and I a hand with identifying a patch from my wife's great-grandfather's WWII memorabilia. The reason we're asking you about this is we were searching on Google and you're the only person who had posted a picture of this patch we were able to find. The picture's file is http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v131/GreatestGeneration/patches.jpg

The patch we were trying to identify is a teardrop-shaped shield with a gold bayonet or knife on red flames with what appears to be a drop of blood on the tip. Any information would be very much appreciated. thanks in advance for any help, and have a great day!

Sincerely,
Jesse Gillespie

Dear Carey,

My dad was in the 80th Infantry Division, 318th Regiment, HQ Co., 3rd. Battalion and fought in the Southern Front of the Battle of the Bulge.  Your grandfather's story seems as fascinating as my dad's.

Nice website.  :)

PS:  Love the babe in the Stars and Stripes bikini!  Can that be considered defacing of Old Glory?  Ah, never mind.

Dave

Carey:  Excellent site!  Keep up the imprtant work of honoring veterans and recording their stories - they certainly (and sadly) won't be around forever.
