Visitor Comments: I first posted on your guest book in 2011, and here we are planning another trip, this time to Skopelos we are back on here again. In between our trips to Greece I come back on your site to dream about our next visit. Thank you for sharing your experience and knowledge.
I was very sorry to read that your mother has sadly passed away but it sounds as though you have many happy memories. |
Admin Reply: Thanks Rachael ...I think we need to dream away sometimes, especially in this cold... Thanks also for your kind words about my website and about my mother. I think you will like Skopelos, expecially the main town, which is one of the prettiest I have seen. I wasn't very long on the island though so you tell me what it was like . We are going back to Milos (love it!!!), Santorini, Thirassia (love it as well!) and we are going to try Sifnos, which is new to me. Than later on in the season we go back to our beloved Crete, as we do every year. Lucky me ) haha... Have a good time on Skopelos... Cheers, Hans |

Visitor Comments: I've been viewing your website about Greece and the Islands. What I'm seeing is awsome.
I am an american air force vetern, now retired. While I was in the AirForce.I was stationed at the now closed Hellenikon,Air Base in Athens.I was there for four years.I did get to visit 10 of the islands while I was there. This was all during the 80's time frame.During the 90's I was on holidays in Greece off and on,thru the 90's. I have lots of memories of Greece.I'm addicted to Greece anyway, and I still am.I'm hoping to get back to Greece for another holiday,in the near future. I see from your screenshot locations on the islands, things have changed some what.It sure does look more inviting, even though the greek economy,is going thru rough times lately.
While I was stationed at the air base.I did get to know Glyfada/Athens areas very well.Glyfada was very popular for us air force folks, that were stationed at the airbase. I currently have some greek friends on facebook as well. Your website does give me a lot of good info about the different islands and what they look like now/currently.It will help me decide, what Islands I want to visit on my next holiday visit.
I've even thought about being an expat, and moving to Greece,on a permnent basic. That will take a lot of research,to be an expat living in Greece. I do have a lot of american friends that are expats living there lives numerous country's around the world. My choice will be Greece etc.
I'm looking forward to a return vist to the islands.
You would be a great sorce of comminication about living on the islands as an expat, and maybe you could point me to other points of contact, about living in Greece etc.
Thanks for reading

| Admin Reply: Thanks for your message George . I believe you should live where ever you like it the best. For me it would be Crete, because it is so versatile and it has everything, but I have only seen about 40 of the islands so far and a little bit of the mainland. Usually when people travel around a lot and visit several islands they all end up with one favorite....
Cheers, Hans |

Groet Hans |

Visitor Comments: Dikke thumbs up!
Groet Hans. |
