Visitor Comments: I found your site after looking for information that might help me figure out exactly what mix our new dog, Libby, is. I now believe she's a mix of Australian Cattle Dog and Tenterfield Terrier. She looks just like a Tenterfield, is 10.5 lbs, but her coat is not smooth at all. Other than her white body with large black spots and black, brown and white face, she has the rougher coat (with numerous, small, very light spots all over) of an Australian Cattle Dog. Since we're in Texas, I have no idea how she ended up here. Maybe some Australian breeds, at some point in time, were brought here for cow dogs since there's so much cattle here? (A young Hispanic man saw her and told me she was definitely "Blue Heeler" because of her coat markings, else I'd never have known about Blue Heelers/Australian Cattle Dogs.) But she looks just like a Tenterfield in every other way - except for quite a pronounced abdominal tuck due to a large ribcage. Our recently adopted girl is so very smart and affectionate, and quite protective of her new home and family! She does tend to run along our other dog's side, like she's herding, but she obviously has terrier in her not only by her physical appearance, but she likes to shake little stuffed toys back and forth as if they were small rats or bunnies - just like our terrier-chihuahua male does. Your site was much fun to look through - your dogs are lovely, and your description of Tenterfields was so very helpful. Thank you for your wonderful information!
